The Balancing Act

The biggest mistake most people make in balancing their personal and professional life is not understanding what’s really important to them. They become overloaded in their professional life and have no time for family and friends or just become too caught up with other things that distract them from their purpose in life.

Most of time “imbalance” is caused by not having your priorities in order. The best way to help balance both your personal and professional life is evaluating: what you want in your life, where and whom your spending your time, what your values are, and what makes you happy. There’s a famous quote I love it says: “Learn how to be happy with what you have while you pursue all that you want.” -Jim Rohm

Sometimes when you are out of balance it can make you feel unhappy, stressed, frustrated and depressed. The best way to begin embracing balance is to let go of your past and move forward into the present. Once you begin to embrace living in your present state of being you don’t have time to worry about the things you have lost.

Let’s face it, pain is pain, it all hurts the same way. Whether you lost a loved one, relationship, job, business, desired dream or anything that you hold dear to your heart.  All these situations can cause imbalance if you are not aware if how to deal with your pain. Once you lose something, it feels bad, like something is being ripped out of your chest. We have all lost something at one stage in our life. There were things; I lost in my own life that I had to come to grips with that has molded me into the person I am today. The best way to get past this is to allow yourself to grieve, cry, scream, and write; whatever it takes to get it out of your system.

Tips to find balance:
• Surround yourself around positive people that helps to boost your spirits
• Read self-help books, watch motivational videos or listen to inspirational music
• Find a support group, speak to others that have gone through it and made it out
• Redirect negative self-talk and focus on the good things in your life
• Exercise to release any tension or stress to boost your energy
• Finds your spiritual center and peace place in an environment that can heal your mind
• Keep your mind active and find activities you enjoy

The key to balancing your personal and professional life is to be the very best you can be in every area of your life. When individuals can first focus work on building up themselves and their character and get rid of old mindsets, childhood experiences, opinions and previous influences they can now begin to know themselves in a more intimate way.

When you learn to be intimate with yourself and accept and love the person you have become all other things will be attracted to you. If you believe you are beautiful, successful, relationship ready and happy with what you have already accomplished in life. You can now move forward with those same feelings of joy, excitement, expectation, anticipation to achieve your next level of goals.
